Getting your test results
If your test results show that you need more tests or treatment, we will contact you.
Once a doctor has reviewed your test results, you can view them:
- by phoning us on 0141 639 2753 any weekday between 9am and midday, 2pm to 5pm
Urine tests take a minimum of 48 hours and blood tests a minimum of 1 week for the result to be returned to the practice.
X-rays can take up to 2 weeks to get the reported result.
If your test or investigation was arranged by a hospital department then it is their duty to communicate the result to you.
The practice has a strict policy regarding confidentiality and data protection and we will only release test results to the person to whom they relate unless that person has given prior permission for the release of this data or they are not capable of understanding the results.
When you have your test, we will try to tell you how long it will be before the results are returned to the practice.
It is your responsibility to check your results and to make an appointment to discuss them with your doctor if you are advised to do so.
