Getting your test results

If your test results show that you need more tests or treatment, we will usually contact you. However, it is your responsibility to check your results and make an appointment to discuss them with your clinician if you are advised to do so.

Once a doctor has reviewed your test results, you can view them:

  • by completing the test results request form and awaiting our reply. Please ensure to check your email inbox and junk mail for this.
  • by phoning us on 0141 639 2753 any weekday between 9am and midday, 2pm to 5pm

Urine tests take a minimum of 48 hours and blood tests a minimum of 1 week for the result to be returned to the practice.

X-rays can take up to 2 weeks to get the reported result but in some cases this may be longer.

If your test or investigation was arranged by a hospital department then it is their duty to communicate the result to you.

The practice has a strict policy regarding confidentiality and data protection and we will only release test results to the person to whom they relate unless that person has given prior permission for the release of this data or they are not capable of understanding the results.
